| Moitessier Violin |

| I purchased this violin through a friend of Dan Kelly's, who is in the violin business. It is from the shop of Moitessier of Paris. We think it is from the 1875-1895 period. It is really a great sounding instrument...probably the best all-around fiddle I have ever owned. It beats the 1750 Paulo Antonio Testore, I had 12 years ago for responsiveness and great tone. Even though that was an old Italian violin and certainly more valuable, I'll take this French number any day :-) |
