| This is one of my very favorite guitars. It is a Martin D-18 from 1953. It is somewhat unusual for it's Adirondack spruce top. I have been told that it was not common to see this top wood in the 50's on D-18s, the more comman sitka spruce being the norm. In any event, it is it's sound that makes it special. I purchased it at Gruhn Guitars many years ago. It is a wonderful bluegrass guitar. It is in good to very good condition. I love the creamy yellow color that the top has taken on with it's almost 50 years of life and of course I love having at least one instrument that is older than me :-) . |
