| This is one of my guitars that I seem to get asked about alot. It is a Jerry Jones Neptune Bass-6 Guitar. The design is based on the old Danelectro "Longhorn" series. Jerry has his factory here in Nashville and will custom make them for you. Interestingly, Alan Jackson is the first artist I have ever worked for that specifically asked me to play one of these instuments. Naturally, when I was called about the Jackson gig and they asked me if I played "tic tac guitar" (as it is sometimes called) I said "of course I do" and then had to go out and find one and learn how to play the damn thing. It was only later that I confessed to a couple of the guys in the band that I had to borrow one for the gig while Jerry built one for me. Fortunately for me, it is tuned just like a standard guitar (an octive lower)...no big adjustment. I have really enjoyed playing this beast. :-) |
