Albert Lee's homestead near Stockville, Nebraska 1888
A classic prairie sod dugout. In 1895 the family left the homestead and eventually returned to Illinois.
Albert Lee re-settled in Saybrook, IL. William O. Rutledge remained in Nebraska and eventually settled in Wyoming.
Most of my ancesters were pioneers, always headed west, looking for a new and better life.
A pattern seen in  many early American families,
from Ireland to the new world, from South Carolina to, Georgia, Kentucky, Illinois, Nebraska and Wyoming.
Some of my family have asked me to put these old family photos on the website.
I think old photos are so much fun.
