William O. Rutledge Family circa 1912 near Chugwater,WY
William O. was the first reported fiddle player in the family. My grandfather took his fiddle out one day when his father was away and taught himself a tune. After that, he considered the fiddle his own. According to Grandpa, his dad was a poor fiddler.
Grandpa passed this fiddle on to me. I treasure it still.
My grandfather William Albert (Shorty) is 2nd from the right.
My great-grandfather would travel around that area, with the family and drill wells with a steam-powered drilling rig. I guess this was an early attempt at a camper-style wagon.
